July 31 at 6:18 PMYay. It's been a great month and I'm very pleased with the progress I've made. I look forward to spreading the word with my family and friends. If everyone I know did just half of what I've done this month, that would be fabulous!

July 31 at 6:16 PMThis has been a great challenge. I've spent the month figuring out ways for me, and my family, to reduce our daily plastic use. I'm happy to report that our use of zip lock plastic bags is almost at zero, my take-out plastic consumption is almost zero, and there are a few more areas I have to work on but I'm getting there!

July 31 at 6:13 PMIt's been a great month. Committed to keeping my plastic use low!

July 31 at 2:37 PMPeople are afraid of other people's germs and having everything in plastic provides a barrier that feels safe by making the consumer believe that the produce is more sanitary. Who knows how many times my apple was manhandled, dropped, and licked before I bought it.

July 31 at 2:30 PMAll of my workplaces use disposable cutlery. It is believed that it is easier, cheaper, and more sanitary than real utensils; no one wants to spend the time washing dishes or have the water running all the time. The hard part would be convincing them otherwise and getting around these issues.
