Lifestyle Buy Only What I Need
As you have reduced your spending, what have you noticed about your 'health and safety' purchasing habits? How might this change your longer term purchasing decisions?

I've started to change my way of thinking about items in my home that are "getting old". If it still works, I will not dispose of it for a newer version.

    Food Minimize Packaging
With the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?

The amount of single use plastics is insane at the grocery store. It's very rare to find food that does not have any plastic associated with it.

    Personal Care Brusha Brusha Brusha
What are the benefits of switching to bamboo toothbrushes? How would you implore others in your community to make this switch as well?

Toothbrushes aren't recyclable and often end up as trash in the ocean which causes a lot of issues. An average person will use 300 toothbrushes over their lifetime. Seems like a no-brainer to use something that is environmentally friendly
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Use Reusable Utensils
How can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?

My office has a kitchen w/ silverware, etc. but sometimes when we have Lunch & Learn's, the presenters bring in plastic utensils. I think we should ask them not to do that and make sure that everyone uses our metal silverware!

    Food Plant a Garden
Besides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?

Gardens are a benefit for my mind and body as well as the fresh veggies. It's super fun to grow things and eat them, plus I love learning about different plants and types of veggies that I already know. Heirlooms are awesome!

    Community Keep My Community Clean
How does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?

Picking up trash in my community helped me pay attention to my surrounding more and actually show that I care about where I live. I'm hoping that other saw what I was doing and that it maybe inspired them to do the same.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Personal Care That Was a Close Shave
What have you noticed about the economic and social impact of switching to steel razors? Was there ever really a need for disposable razors, or do you think it was just a way to sell more things?

No disposable when you use electric razors, too

Works well on long trips and keeps from making frequent stops.
