This challenge was tough for me but I am surprised how much I have learned from it. Some was easier than I thought and sone harder but I made a conscious effort and proud to have hung in there!  Go Me!

I was doing some researching about our dog poop disposal.... I kept thinking that I should see if there are biodegradable poop bags I could use instead of composting. Came across this interesting piece of information: https://www.rover.com/blog/truth-about-biodegradable-poop-bags-in/

We went to the New England Aquarium on Sunday and each presentation we watched touched on the plastic feee challenge items.  During the sea lion chat they even highlighted that the mammals at the aquarium use bamboo toothbrushes! I was ashamed I couldn’t raise my hand to say that I also do.  I’m just waiting to use up the plastic already in my...

Lots of items in my house are made from PVC from t-shirts to shower curtains.  Polystyrene or styrofoam is used to make plastic in many products, mostly disposable.  I've tried to avoid buying anything made out of styrofoam, especially single use food products.  My city banned food take containers made from styrofoam and many other cities in MA...

With friends and community I usually tell them my experiences with trying to buy things with reduced packaging or other ways I try to recycle.  I tell them about the need for everyone to be active in recycling and helping our environment and...

I watched The True Cost. I already knew a lot about the textile waste and depravity of workers. It was just to see the connection between materialism and capitalism and it being so clearly outlined in how it’s ruining not only the earth but the human species. We can absolutely live with less. Having things really doesn’t mean you’re happy. It...

As a family, we don't really go many places where disposable utensils are used; even when we do resort to fast food while traveling, the means are utensil-free.  That said, the biggest place where disposal utensils are used are at schools, where its seen as a convenience as opposed to washing real silverware.  I'll be honest...I don't know...

It's hard to take this quiz and know if it's accurate; its definitely eye opening to be asked about plastic consumption and attempt to tally it.  From a high-level, I don't use much plastic on a daily basis...I rarely buy drinks from fast food or coffee shops, and most of the household purchases we make are for kids (snacks, hygiene, etc.) and...
