Thanks for bringing more awareness to the ever encroaching plastic wave! Good to be part of the ebbing tide.

I have a small group of likeminded friends and we are planning to make dill and sweet pickles this summer. We already made some jam and it is delicious. More to come as our confidence in the canning process grows.

I always let my family and friends know what I am doing to reduce packaging in my life so that they can see there are alternative behaviors that they can take on that are easy to follow.  Last year I ran a table at a local farmer's market to sell reusable packaging items and items made from repurposed goods.  I had a chance to share my...

The County finally backed out because they couldn't guarantee enough garbage to make the plant viable....

I will keep buying more and more food in bulk. So many non-perishable products that I have in my cupboards are in non-recyclable zip top bags. I will not buy anymore. These bags all currently end up in the garbage bin.

I made my own toothpaste with only 3 ingredients and put it into little jars that I already had. Why would I ever buy toothpaste in a plastic tube again?

It feels good to know that there are others who care...however, it upsets me that the ones doing the clean up are not the ones making the mess :(

My waste audit was depressing. So much plastic and I am trying to be so careful. I applaud zero wasters, as this takes so much planning. I am buying more products in bulk, using my own bags and containers. It’s just a habit.
