I've been using wax and cotton food wraps instead of plastic wrap, and it's great! Plastic wrap is trash in every sense of the word. Re-usable food wraps work well and save me a the frustration of trying to wrangle plastic wrap that's clung to itself but won't seem to cling to the thing I want to cover.

I think a lot of consumers have just become so habituated to putting each type of produce in its own bag that they don't even think about why they do it.
