It was pretty difficult to find bar shampoo/conditioner in most stores. I finally found one brand at Target packaged in a cardboard box. It is much smaller than bulky plastic bottles. Also, I have been using bar soap for years since I bought handmade goats milk bars in Yellow Springs that are wonderful!

I watched Sustainable on Netflix . It really makes you think about the lack of consumer education regarding where our food is coming from. It definitely made me look into going to farmer's markets to support local, sustainable farming habits.

Since I don't think my cats care what if their food dishes match it's great to get them at a thrift store! They are so cheap I don't care if they break.

We are half-way through plastic-free July! Did you know that right now, our team is ranked #126 out of 760 teams? That's awesome! Great job everybody and keep up saving the planet!! :) 

Sharing plastic-free ideas help inspire friends and family on social media! My sister didn't even know bamboo toothbrushes were an option until I posted about it. It's important to spread the knowledge! 

I just got my bamboo toothbrush in the mail and tried it out. The fact that it is made from a sustainable resource and is biodegradable are huge benefits to the planet. The main obstacle I had was finding bamboo toothbrushes at a reasonable price locally, hence the reason I bought it online. Overall, it is definitely worth it!

I have noticed a shift in some parts of the community on using plastic straws, but unfortunately it seems like most restaurants will still hand you a straw even if you don't ask for one.

I finally took the plunge and bought bar conditioner! I've been using bar shampoos since January of this year, but I was always hesitant about conditioner. Fingers crossed that it works! 😊
