I learned that plastic is harmful toward the earth

I learned from this challenge that when we all try, we can reduce plastic waste and it proves that we can live without it and clean our planet a little at a time. A little goes a long way, especially if a bunch of people pitch in.

Plastic is definitely from the producer, but I never understood why. Especially with produce! Broccoli wrapped in plastic drives me crazy! Even worse is veggies on a styrofoam tray AND wrapped in plastic.

It gives a sense of pride for the community and is a conversation starter when people ask what you're doing picking up garbage.

Rescue the earth and to help the future know about plastic.

I didn’t complete one of my challenges this month, but all year, I should be trying to improve my habits so I will get to it eventually! 😄

Great job to everyone who challenged themselves in any way this month! Be proud of yourself! Hopefully these challengers will lead to new sustainable habits!

I would talk about how even if recycled or thrown away plastic can enter the environment, and I would explain how long and how it degrades. I would also tell them about how producing plastics is causing climate change due to all the oil used to manufacture it.

Way to go, Plastic Free New Orleans team! We made it through the month. Participating in Plastic Free July always highlights how much our culture prioritizes convenience and ease over sustainability, and re-focuses me on finding small ways to limit my impact on the environment despite the challenges inherent in my community. Keep up the good...

Loved this activity and also joined with my daughter in composting with our local libraries 😊
