Vinegar is a great cleaning product.  Even for doggy accidents.   I also use baking soda to clean the kitchen sinks and counters and for tough stain removal.

I am a volunteer at the Toronto Zoo.  We all need to learn how to care for our world.

Although it was easy to do, I had leftover potato salad made by me and leftover chili made by me for lunch at home.

I baked a lovely quiche from scratch, pastry and all.  It was very mild.  Needs to sit overnight to allow the flavour to mature.

    Food Make Your Own
How do you feel about being more involved in the food preparation process? Joyful, overwhelmed, engaged, empowered? What are the benefits of choosing to process or produce your own food instead of buying it pre-processed?

Some things will be difficult to do from a raw unprocessed state.  I do make most meals and am not in the habit of eating pre-processed meals.  I usually buy snacks, so it will be interesting to get back to baking again.  Making my own bread will be an interesting challenge.

I stopped relying on store plastic produce bags last January when the number of plastic bags I brought home became so ridiculous they started getting in the way.   I now use washable produce bags which work extremely well.  I also replaced plastic wrap with beeswax wrappers.  The ones from the Zoo are fabulous and they smell so nice!
