Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases, including produce bags.

Cook a Zero-Plastic Waste Meal
I will prepare 1 meal(s) at home each day without using any items packaged in single-use plastic.
Food
Minimize Packaging
I will purchase food items with the least amount of packaging.
Lifestyle
Travel Smart
If traveling, I will bring my own plastic free items (water bottle, grocery bags, collapsible food containers, utensils, straws, etc.) with me.
Community
Host a House Party
I will host a house party with friends and/or colleagues to watch a movie or present a guest speaker on plastics.
Lifestyle
Travel Toiletries
If traveling, I will reuse my old travel tubes to refill with my soaps or only bring bar soaps with me in a TSA approved reusable quart sized bag.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Jessica Wolanski 7/23/2019 6:59 PMWe had a guest speaker from the City of San Antonio talk about recycling to summer naturalist volunteers today. Reduce is the most important of the 3 r’s.-
Sam Peterson 7/24/2019 9:12 AMSo true! I think we all fall into the trap of "it's recyclable so it's okay to purchase," when the reality is a lot of it won't really be recycled and it should have been avoided or manufactured/packaged differently in the first place. Great that you're getting the message out there!
