Personal Care
Lather Up
I will replace my soaps, shampoos, and conditions with either a bar or refillable option.
Food
Use Reusable Containers
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Food
Skip the Straw
I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Food
Cook a Zero-Plastic Waste Meal
I will prepare 2 meal(s) at home each day without using any items packaged in single-use plastic.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable ContainersHow can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?
Cheryl Weeple 7/23/2019 8:08 AMI like to re-use containers whenever possible - even plastic ones - for non-food items. The question is, when do you stop saving and start getting rid of them - there is only so much room.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Cook a Zero-Plastic Waste MealDo an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some resuable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable?
Cheryl Weeple 7/10/2019 1:40 PMWe even clean-up glass jars now and re-use them for overnight oats. We also save some plastic butter containers and the like and re-use them as well. I prefer the glass jars though. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Skip the StrawHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.
Cheryl Weeple 7/08/2019 6:09 AMWent to the zoo and they were selling re-usable straws. Bought some and used one yesterday.
