I cooked a zero-landfill waste meal today with rice and buckwheat bought in bulk in our homemade fabric bags, zucchini from our garden cooked with garlic, shallots, thyme from our garden, and sausages bought in paper packing and melon for desert. The only waste generated besides vegetable scraps that are compo
stable was the paper in which the sausages were packed.

I spent some time 2 days ago harvesting garlic and shallots I planted last October. Then I learnt on the internet how to best preserve them (with plastic-free methods of course!). I think my family (I have 3 kids) will be self-sufficient in garlic and shallots for 1 year! Which means one full year of plastic-free organic extremely local garlic and shallots for us! Also I do all my garden without buying any soil in plastic bags. I love it!

I spent some time yesterday checking on Youtube how to make my own tofu, and more importantly how to cook it to make it taste good (let's be honest, tofu has no taste at all if not prepared properly ;-))
