REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable ContainersHow can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?
Kaitlyn Ulrich 7/31/2019 11:04 AMUse reusable plastic bags or glass containers - I love using my pyrex containers for everything! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable Water BottlesUsing the links provided, investigate the bottling practices of water corporations. There have been many cases where the water rights of the local people have been violated or even completely disregarded when a corporation decides to bottle water from a particular water source. How can you advocate for those who have been harmed by this bottling process?
Kaitlyn Ulrich 7/31/2019 10:53 AMMore people should reach out to these companies through social media or advocate for change. Either that or refuse to purchase their product. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable UtensilsHow can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?
Kaitlyn Ulrich 7/31/2019 10:52 AMWe mostly use only reusable cutlery at work but still have some plastic disposables. We try to use them as little as possible! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Complete a Waste AuditWhat did you learn about the waste you create? Where can you reduce the most?
Kaitlyn Ulrich 7/30/2019 9:04 AMWe have a lot of trash and recycling. I would say we could reduce the amount of paper towels we use. Sometimes such a waste when you could be using a dish cloth instead. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPets Thrifty PetsHow does buying used differ from buying new? How does each purchasing decision make you feel?
Kaitlyn Ulrich 7/30/2019 9:03 AMI love thrift shops and buying used! It's so much cheaper, you're giving new life to something someone didn't want anymore, and you get rare finds you may not find at the mall! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPets Pet WasteBy composting your pet waste, you are turning waste into nutrients to feed the soil. In what other ways can you turn waste into a resource in your life?
Kaitlyn Ulrich 7/30/2019 8:59 AMReusing plastics for DIY projects is very fun, easy and cheap! Plus, we compost at work so our waste is feeding the soil for other plants to grow. Reduce and reuse! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Travel ToiletriesWhat is the benefit of using bar soaps or refilling your travel sized containers? Is this an action you think you will keep in your life?
Kaitlyn Ulrich 7/30/2019 8:57 AMTravel sized containers allow you to only take what you need on your trip. For only a few days or a week it is a perfect size and you never have to buy a new bottle for traveling! You can always use the same ones. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Share My ActionsIn what ways is social media an effective tool for sharing your values?
Kaitlyn Ulrich 7/30/2019 8:56 AMSocial media allows an easy way to connect people on issues they care about. Working together to share a message allows that message to spread to others easily on digital platforms. -
