Julie Tomita 7/31/2019 11:44 AMGreat job, everyone! Really proud of both ZooTampa teams! The changes that I made this month: Switched to toothpaste tablets (they are wonderful), made my own kitchen/bathroom cleaner with baking soda (works great), switched to a metal razor (still kind of a learning curve with this one but I think it will work once I get used to it), purchased a moisturizer bar (love it), got much better (but not perfect) about remembering to ask for no plastic straw or lids with drinks when I eat out or go to a drive-thru, actually remembered to bring a reusable container for leftovers when I ate out and switched to a crystal deodorant bar (had doubts about this working but it actually does!). Small steps but paired with the life changes I made last year, the impact is greater! I look forward to continuing on this route and taking more challenges on for the next Plastic-free July challenge in 2020! -
Julie Tomita 7/07/2019 9:01 AMOkay, I purchased a metal razor and a moisturizer bar. Haven't used either, yet but will let everyone know how they work! -
Julie Tomita 7/03/2019 1:57 PMLooking forward to moving even more towards a plastic-free lifestyle. Last year, I started using "Drops" laundry and dishwasher pods and am still using them. They both come in cardboard boxes and work great. I highly recommend them! I also bought a seltzer machine which has saved hundreds of plastic bottles. It is inexpensive and easy to use!. This year, my goal is to be more diligent about bringing reusable containers for leftovers when I eat out and to get better at remembering to ask for NO straws or plasticware when dining out or getting take-out . Good luck everyone!!!-
Katie Murray 7/03/2019 4:12 PMI, too, switched to a seltzer machine and it's been fantastic!
