Create Your Own Action
Let me bag that for you.
Provide reusable bags to those who do not think about the impact of plastic bags. This is a very small change that can make a big difference, as people notice you in the stores with your own bags, and they question you. That is a perfect opportunity to spread the word, and when they see that you are passionate enough to purchase a bag for them, it inspires them to make the change as well!
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal Care Fresh as a DaisyDo some research on the toxic side affects of aluminum deodorant. After reading the side effects, can you think of instances where you may have experienced the side effects from this form of deodorant?
Tonja Thurman 7/30/2019 7:58 PMOh yes! Some of these deodorants carry more aluminum than others! I have become very itchy, broken out in rashes, and even had my skin burned from prolonged use. I find that using a mix of baking soda and baby powder is a better option for me. -
Tonja Thurman 7/30/2019 7:52 PMHere we are at the end of the challenge. I will continue to learn and teach others how to become better stewards of our planet. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPets Pet WasteBy composting your pet waste, you are turning waste into nutrients to feed the soil. In what other ways can you turn waste into a resource in your life?
Tonja Thurman 7/29/2019 8:12 AMMy daughter has been researching composting, and has made her own compost bin! She saw all of the scraps that we disposed of, and put them to use! We now have our own worms to feed to our animals, and do not have to purchase them. So proud of my kiddo! -
Tonja Thurman 7/29/2019 8:09 AMSo great to see co many of my friends out there making a difference! -
Tonja Thurman 7/27/2019 1:56 PMGreat evening in the park! Filled 2 30g bags with trash, 1 shoe, and a hubcap! -
Tonja Thurman 7/26/2019 2:33 PMGoing to a park clean up and family cook out after work today! Who says you cannot make cleaning up a fun family event??? -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPets Try a Pet Shampoo BarIn what ways does your pet make your life happier, more interesting, or more rewarding?
Tonja Thurman 7/26/2019 2:29 PMMy critter kids are my life!!!! They make me happy by just being there for me all the time, not judging me, and loving me for who I am. They all have their own little quirky attitudes, and they make me laugh. All the time. Couldn't imagine life without them. -
Tonja Thurman 7/25/2019 8:15 PMHope everyone's challenge is going well! -
Tonja Thurman 7/24/2019 8:07 PMI messed up today. Went to food trucks, and used their plastic ware, as I forgot my reusables. :(
