What have you noticed about the economic and social impact of switching to steel razors? Was there ever really a need for disposable razors, or do you think it was just a way to sell more things?

Like many aspects of modern life, disposable razors trade time and skill for convenience. It takes more patience, more practice, and more time to shave properly with a safety razor, which will mean changing up my routine some mornings. Small price to pay for going to a non-plastic, though still not recyclable item.
