Heather Segura 7/31/2019 6:57 AMSuch a great challenge! Hopefully everyone changed at least one habit for the better. Let's make #plasticfreejuly #plasticfreedaily -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Lobby for ReusablesWhat are some of the cases you could make to an employer for why switching to durable dishes and utensils is actually in their best interest as well?
Heather Segura 7/31/2019 6:54 AMFor one, the employer will spend less money on non reusable items like plates and plastic ware. Most importantly, less plastic will enter the environment! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal Care Lather UpWhat are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?
Heather Segura 7/31/2019 6:52 AMLess packaging equals less money spent so consumers should get to pay less for the product. Buying a bar of soap allows you to use all of it, because we know that soap and shampoo is left unused in a plastic bottle. Plus the biggest deal is less plastic! -
Heather Segura 7/19/2019 4:28 PMNo more Rubbermaid containers for lunch! Cheers to my new stackable container! -
Heather Segura 7/17/2019 5:14 PMDonated a set of bamboo utensils to a good friend. Gotta do whatcha gotta do! -
Heather Segura 7/16/2019 7:32 PMToday I took not one, but two, plastic 6-pack rings from out of our work trash. Cut them into pieces and disposed of them properly. #pleasethink -
Heather Segura 7/09/2019 8:24 AMSo when the person in the car in front of you tosses their plastic bottle out the window, is it ok to pick it up and then hit them with it? #justwondering #ididn'tdoit -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Natural FibersWhat are the benefits (to people, animals, and the environment) of purchasing clothes made with natural fibers?
Heather Segura 7/08/2019 10:36 AMEliminating the multitudes of micro-plastics from entering the environment and ultimately our bodies! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFamily Provide the AlternativesWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) does your family regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Heather Segura 7/08/2019 10:34 AMPlastic-wrap. I'd like to start using more glass storage containers and beeswax. -
Heather Segura 7/07/2019 12:31 PMTook bamboo utensils with me to dinner! Knew the place I was going to only uses plastic! 😕
