REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable UtensilsHow can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?
Rita Sainz 7/06/2019 10:26 AMMy daughter got me started on this and more and more i have become aware of just how much single use plastic are being handed out and tossed right away. I have a kit that i keep in my purse and it is a conversation starter for me to others about single use plastics. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable BagsHow difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Rita Sainz 7/06/2019 10:25 AMI love my reusable bags almost too much as i use it not only for groceries but also as a go bag for my work out things. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Watch a DocumentaryWhich documentary did you choose to watch? What did you learn?
Rita Sainz 7/01/2019 7:13 PMI watched Mission Blue and this focused on Silva Earle an Marine biologist, ocean explorer, author an lecturer. Watching this showed me that we as a culture do not know enough about the ocean and our lack of care for the ocean is killing species and areas of the ocean. The actions that are being taken are often done after and area has been essentially killed and they are working to reviving that area. I will be skipping seafood as a dinner option. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Skip the StrawHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.
Rita Sainz 6/28/2019 8:36 PMI have seen more ads for reusable straws on my social media. There is a silicon bent straw that I have seen the most.
