I actually haven't actually made my own cleaning product other than vinegar water. I a finding it difficult to fine the time to go out and purchase the materials I need. But I vow to do it at some point, it may not be during the month of July. And that is fine, because all the these we challenged ourselves for July should carry over into our normal routines. 

Years ago you could go to any grocery store and hand pick your vegetables and fruits. But I think that people became concerned with germs and bacterial and even though you can wash the items people felt more comfortable with having their food sealed in plastic. Manufactures may feel that by wrapping them in plastic will make the produce last longer and easier to ship. Therefore the plastic packaging is serving some consumers, shippers, and the stores - less mess. 

If I a restaurant is uncomfortable with me bringing my own container I would first ask why they are hesitant to do so. Depending on their answer I would attempt to mitigate those issues. I would also explain how this actually saves them money and that they can help the environment at the same time. If they do allow the container I would certainly share that on social media and urge others to patronize the restaurant. 

By sharing my values on social media it may inspire others or it may make people reflect on their own values.
