  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Family Plastic Free Lunch Boxes
Most of us know that the "3 R's" are reduce, reuse, recycle. Recycling is most heavily emphasized in modern Western culture. How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

I definitely like repurposing things for art. I took some old cupboards once and sanded and painted them for my wall.

I brought a glass cup to a coffee shop to get my smoothie put in that instead of the plastic single use cup.

It is going pretty good. I definitely have realized how much I throw away and I want to change that. I have been saving all my cardboard or paper products and burning them instead of throwing them out.

I was at a restaurant and didn't take the plastic silverware offered to me. Instead I used reusable silverware at work.

Pretty good. I feel bad because I used some plastic cutlery today, but I was super hungry and didn't have my reusable utensils... I'll do better :(

It is going pretty good!  I used my reusable bags at the grocery store exclusively and I have been really good about not using plastic cutlery and straws.
