The challenge has been pretty easy.  I have run into some issues with my daughters lunch where she is unable to take reusable materials due to field trips.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Use Reusable Utensils
How can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?

I have been carrying around an extra fork in my purse so when I go out to eat with a co-worker, I ask if they'd like to use the metal fork instead.  It allows for an opportunity to talk about plastic waste.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Plant a Garden
Besides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?

My daughter has had a great time watering the vegetables and talks about how she is going to cook with them and try new and different foods.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Buy Unpackaged Produce
Why do you think these produce products started amassing so much plastic packaging? Who is the plastic packaging really serving -- the consumer, the producer, or someone else?

Convenience and people thinking that there are germs and contaminants everywhere.  As we wash produce before we use it anyway, there is really no need to package everything in its own plastic containers.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Use Reusable Bags
How difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?

This wasn't difficult at all.  I have been bringing my reusable bags with me to the store so I haven't had any issue.
