We have decided to have a low waste birthday party for our son. Compostable plates, cups, flatwear, etc.  reminding guests to place food waste into compost bin or chicken run.  We will come up with kore.

We’ve turned to beeswax wrap to replace plastic wrap, are slowly converting to glass food storage containers, and reusable silicone food bags.

By composting your pet waste, you are turning waste into nutrients to feed the soil. In what other ways can you turn waste into a resource in your life?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Pets Homemade Pet Food/Treats
Does making your own pet food seem like a habit you can keep up in the long term? What else can you do to reduce your use of plastic packaging that can come from taking care of your pet's needs?

One thing I have been thinking of doing is raising mealworms for the chickens.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Cook a Zero-Plastic Waste Meal
Do an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some resuable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable?

The highest culprits are granola bars and fruit snacks, which I can easily make at home.
