ali's actions
Community
Keep My Community Clean
I will pick up 5 piece(s) of litter each day.
Food
Minimize Packaging
I will purchase food items with the least amount of packaging.
Personal Care
That Was a Close Shave
I will replace my disposable razors with steel razors. Why not try using hair conditioner instead of shaving foam for that baby smooth feel?
Personal Care
Brusha Brusha Brusha
I will replace my plastic toothbrush with a bamboo toothbrush.
Food
Use Reusables at Work
I will use reusable dishes and silverware when eating at work.
Food
Use Reusable Containers
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Food
Use Reusable Water Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 2 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.

ali rackley 7/16/2019 7:38 AMThe second time around- this challenge is hard! At this point, I feel like I'm doing the "easy" things. This challenge is really making me think about how to amp up my plastic reduction. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal Care Brusha Brusha BrushaWhat are the benefits of switching to bamboo toothbrushes? How would you implore others in your community to make this switch as well?
ali rackley 7/16/2019 7:36 AMBamboo toothbrushes are such an easy switch! I was definitely hesitant at first, but after the first use.. the only difference is that there's no plastic! I would urge anyone interested in switching to do so. The more people using bamboo toothbrushes, the more quickly the large brands will start producing them! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusables at WorkIt is often true that we only have control over our own actions and not the collective community. How can you lead by example when it comes to switching disposables for reusable dishes in your community?
ali rackley 7/06/2019 6:11 AMWhen eating in a large group setting, I have found that compliments are a great way to get the plastic free conversation going! "Wow your glass container is so cute! You're so fancy when you're saving the planet"
