REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Travel EatingWas this action easy or difficult to do? How did it change your travel experience?
Carolyn Plemons 7/15/2019 8:37 AMTraveled to Phoenix and brought my own reusable container for snacks. I did not notice any difference in food taken from my home but the Airport Restaurants will not allow you to use your own containers for takeout food. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Cook a Zero-Plastic Waste MealDo an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some resuable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable?
Carolyn Plemons 7/08/2019 6:47 AMThe inventory of my kitchen yielded a mountain of single use containers. I am in the process of finding ways to shop bulk or fresh foods that do not require packaging. This was certainly eye opening for me.

Carolyn Plemons 7/08/2019 6:44 AMIt's very rewarding to watch a garden grow. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable UtensilsHow can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?
Carolyn Plemons 7/01/2019 5:55 PMMost to go orders come with disposable cutlery. Refusing the cutlery and asking the restaurants I frequently to ask the customers if the utensils are needed instead of it being an automatic add to the order. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Plant a GardenBesides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?
Carolyn Plemons 7/01/2019 5:41 PMI planted my herb garden over the weekend. I am looking forward to harvesting and using fresh herbs in my meals. This garden will be environmentally friendly as no pesticides will be used.-
Carolyn Plemons 7/22/2019 7:27 AMMy garden is growing quickly! I also planted a celery stalk and green onions from the roots of the store bought produce.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Skip the StrawHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.
Carolyn Plemons 7/01/2019 5:23 PMMost of the restaurants I frequent have already stopped using straws. As of today, I began bringing my own reusable straw when eating out.
