Did you know, Kenya passed a plastic bag ban in 2017 that makes it illegal to sell or use a single use plastic bag. Violaters face heavy fines and possible jail time. The  impact of the ban is seen in fewer plastic bags in streets and waterways, but has also raised costs on small businesses, the biodegradable alternatives are six times more expensive.
