Samara Nehemiah 7/21/2019 5:37 PMAny suggestions on good butchers in the area that take reusable containers??
I went to the butcher Publix (out of laziness) because their website seemed like they would cater to using your own containers and they were just going to take an already packaged meat item off the display container and give it to me :( I've been meaning to check out wards or lucky's butcher but have just been so busy to research more of the local options-
Brooke Tate 7/22/2019 8:36 AMI've heard Ward's also let's you use your own! -
Juan Leguizamon 7/22/2019 5:16 AMLucky's is very willing to put the meats in your own containers and same thing with Whole Foods. I found the prices were significantly lower at Lucky's though.

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Share My ActionsIn what ways is social media an effective tool for sharing your values?
Samara Nehemiah 7/06/2019 6:46 PMSocial Media has been a great way to share ideas and values to a large body of people. At a time where the world can be very dark, I can use social media to spread positivity and encouragement. Throughout this journey I have been sharing tips for my friends and family about little things they can do to reduce their plastic waste. Along the way, I am finding new ways to challenge myself and cutback on my own use and can share my accomplishments (and failings) with friends and family :) -
Samara Nehemiah 7/05/2019 8:49 AMDay 5 of Plastic Free July!
For the last year and a half I have tried to remember to bring my reusable cup everywhere I go and I've done a good job at it. However, I've noticed recently that coffee shops have been measuring out coffee in their usual plastic cups, pouring the coffee into my cup, and then tossing the plastic cup away. This happened to me yesterday! I was so bummed but I have tried to be vocal about this and suggest measuring cups. I'm not sure how to kick everyone else's habits but hopefully this wasteful behavior can change soon!-
Life Unplastic 7/05/2019 6:47 PMThat is a bummer for sure! If you want to email me the name of the company/location, I would be happy to email them from Life Unplastic and ask them to clarify their policy (with their patrons as well as their employees). Sometimes just holding the mirror up can affect change. Let me know, I don't mind at all! It's one of my daily challenges this month, so it would be my pleasure actually. unplastic.gnv@gmail.com
