Dana Neel 7/12/2019 1:16 PMTrying to prevent both plastic waste (or the purchase of more) and food waste, last night we tried a "whats in my kitchen?" meal! We half haphazardly threw together a really great whole wheat pasta with cream sauce and spinach and garlic dish! Plastic free, and feel good food, thats my favorite kind of evening. -
Dana Neel 7/11/2019 3:37 PMYou know whats HARD!? Realizing last minute you dont have a lunch, and trying to stay plastic free at the grocery store. Does anyone have any last minute lunch ideas when you want to bring lunch, but didnt prepare? -
Dana Neel 7/10/2019 4:20 PMQuestion: Any tips or suggestions when it comes to "medical" ish stuff? Example: contacts!

Dana Neel 7/09/2019 3:59 PMMaking a grocery list for a bulk food shopping trip! I got a pack of cotton drawstring bags to hold things like grains, snacks, etc. that I think are light enough to not affect tare too much. Yay!! -
Dana Neel 7/08/2019 8:59 PMI think one of my biggest challenges, is going to a restaurant unplanned, and not having any to-go containers. I need to be better about ALWAYS carrying something with me. -
Dana Neel 7/06/2019 10:03 AMHey all! Any documentary suggestions? I know theres a lot of choices on netflix, but I'd love to hear your favorites. -
Dana Neel 7/02/2019 9:55 AMDoes anyone have any great bulk food grocery stores in the LB/Torrence/Redondo area? Or any suggestions on lightweight bags for buying bulk items? The store I've gone to before provides plastic bags, but they dont have a way to remove the weight of bags or jars that I bring.-
Helen Pontillo 7/02/2019 10:45 AMRe: bulk item bags, I've made some mesh bags for produce and large nuts similar to this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/694561484/set-of-3-produce-bags-reusable-washable The mesh is very lightweight so it doesn't really affect the scale.

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Share My ActionsIn what ways is social media an effective tool for sharing your values?
Dana Neel 7/02/2019 9:21 AMI posted about our #plasticfreejuly challenge on my instagram, asking friends to participate. In only one day, I've had friends that I havent spoken to in years reach out to me looking for ideas and suggestions on how they can change their plastic use. LOVE starting the conversation! -
Dana Neel 6/21/2019 10:16 AMDoes anyone know if the reflection question changes daily? Should I answer it now or wait until the challenge starts?-
Jennifer Runyan 6/21/2019 10:20 AMThey do not change daily. It's a one and done sort of thing. You do get 5 points, so I think it doesn't really matter when you answer them.
