Bekky Muscher-Hodges 7/31/2019 12:40 PMWell, last day of the official Plastic Free July Challenge... just went grocery shopping with hubby. Wins and losses. Reusable bags, check! Seems line everything that we needed to purchase was plastic wrapped except for squash, zucchini, and onions. Sigh. Looking around at other people's grocery carts is just staggering too. Everything is plastic.
Need to look into alternative wet cat food packaging... maybe just raw diet? But now my brain is wandering.
It has been a fun challenge this year! Looking forward to keeping up new habits and continuing to find ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
See you next July! -

REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Travel SmartHow can/did you prepare to be successful in this action? Did you engage in conversation with anyone about your new habit?
Bekky Muscher-Hodges 7/30/2019 7:56 AMMixed success with this action. I did not get to do much long travel, only day trips. I try always to have my reusable tumbler for coffee and my Nalgene for water (until I lost it in the river on Saturday... FAIL!). I do have metal chopsticks and straws that I keep in my vehicle. I have a soft sided lunch bag that I use to bring my lunch/ food back and forth to work and on trips. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Volunteer in my CommunityHow does volunteering enhance your community and/or change your relationship with it?
Bekky Muscher-Hodges 7/25/2019 6:13 AMAll about making contacts and sharing ideas! If we all work together scratching each other's backs, helping each other out, everyone benefits! Often these activities bring together entities with diverse backgrounds, so it becomes a win-win... for people and the environment! -
