Nanette's actions
Family
Discover Together
I will spend 5 minutes educating my family on the basics of living a reduced/no-plastic lifestyle.
Food
Visit the Butcher
I will purchase meats and cheeses from the deli counter or a butcher shop, and use my own containers to do so.
Food
Use Reusable Containers
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Food
Skip the Straw
I will keep 9 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Food
Use a Reusable Mug / Collapsible Cup
I will avoid sending 1 disposable cup(s) to the landfill per day by using a reusable mug or bringing my own collapsible cup.
Food
Buy Unpackaged Produce
I will purchase produce items without plastic packaging.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Nanette Magnani 7/16/2019 8:04 AMMost of the challenges are not daily activities so it is difficult to do daily record keeping. -
Nanette Magnani 7/03/2019 5:17 AMI bought re-usable containers for my son to pack lunches in a small, cloth bag which can be washed. Incredible the level of thought that goes into changing one's own behavior. -
Nanette Magnani 7/03/2019 5:13 AMI re-use Dave's Killer bread plastic bag for my vegetables before recycling. -
Nanette Magnani 7/03/2019 5:07 AMI didn't realize the automatic nature of allowing butchers to put my meat/fish into plastic bags before wrapping it. I asked them to forgo the plastic. And I brought my own small paper bags without plastic lining to buy bulk nuts and seeds for my family's trail mix. One's conscious behavior slowly changes!
