REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use a Reusable Mug / Collapsible CupGreat job on getting rid of your disposable cup habit! How does it make you feel? What's next on your list to reduce your waste?
Laura Lundstedt 7/12/2019 5:56 AMPre-ordering at Dunkin Donuts was way toooo convenient so I hung in there for way toooo long. Bringing my insulated cup and filling it at a local, family-owned coffee shop is not costing me any extra time and I enjoy a little friendly chat with the owner in the morning. -
Laura Lundstedt 7/12/2019 5:52 AMFollowing a weekend away, I decided to order from Peapod. I was aggravated to see that each vegetable and piece of fruit was packaged in its own big shopping bag! I dumped everything on the counter and gave the bags to the driver to be recycled. I then wrote to Stop and Shop encouraging them to change their picking practices and find a solution to limit the use of this much plastic. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Minimize PackagingWith the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?
Laura Lundstedt 7/08/2019 6:29 AMThere are so many products packaged in plastic that could otherwise be packaged and there is way too much plastic wrap and bags being used. Sometimes the baggers put one item in a full-sized plastic bag or even double the bags! I bring my own bags and skip the produce bags, washing my produce well when I get home. -
Laura Lundstedt 7/08/2019 6:26 AMRecruited my whole gang of friends to pick up plastic during our three days on Hampton Beach. Everyone participated eagerly and we prevented lots of trash and plastics from blowing into the ocean!
