No impact man was the documentary I watched and it was so inspiring and funny and sad to see how much waste we create in this society. I am going to have nightmares about plastic. Must see documentary!!

Last day. I feel like I have made a lot of positive permanent changes during this challenge which I will continue and hopefully I will continue to inspire and motivate others to follow suit.

    Pets Invest in a Pooper-Scooper
How are caring for your pet and caring for the environment connected for you?

Starting a dog poo compost is better for the environment because it’s turning into soil and not going into the landfill. And no plastic bags to throw away even compostable ones which I learned aren’t always the best either
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Personal Care Lather Up
What are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?

It’s definitely a lot cheaper and there is no plastic or waste involved. I do want to find a more conditioning bar in the future though. It has been leaving my hair too dry.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Start Composting
Do an inventory of how much food waste you would save from going to the landfill if you start composting all of the time. What are the added benefits of having compost that is readily accessible?

I am definitely feeding my soil.

Trying some hibiscus tooth powder in a jar. Probably super simple to make too so if I like it I can make it myself.

I wish our zoo had more compostables.silverware and cups instead of all the plastic. For a brief time we had compostable bowls in Palm plaza.

Used my shampoo bar but it left my hair pretty dry. Not sure if it’s just the bar I got but will have to figure out a way to hydrate my hair. Probably will have to try some other bars or make my own at some point.
