Clare's actions
Create Your Own Action
One piece at a time
When out around town, working, going to the movies, doing the grocery shopping or taking a walk, I'll pick up trash I see. Every little bit helps!
Family
Discover Together
I will spend 10 minutes educating my family on the basics of living a reduced/no-plastic lifestyle.
Community
Estimate Your Plastic Consumption and Go #PlasticNeutral
I will visit rePurpose website, complete the 3-minute plastic consumption calculator, and explore how I can reBalance my annual plastic footprint.
Food
Use Reusable Containers
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Food
Skip the Straw
I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Lifestyle
Travel Toiletries
If traveling, I will reuse my old travel tubes to refill with my soaps or only bring bar soaps with me in a TSA approved reusable quart sized bag.
Food
Minimize Packaging
I will purchase food items with the least amount of packaging.
Food
Use a Reusable Mug / Collapsible Cup
I will avoid sending 2 disposable cup(s) to the landfill per day by using a reusable mug or bringing my own collapsible cup.
Food
Use Reusable Water Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 10 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.

Clare Lazar 7/31/2019 3:37 PMThis has been so educational and fun. I've talked about my mindfulness on the Ecochallenge to friends and family, hoping to plant seeds in them to think how they can make changes to support continued life for all that live on the planet. We're here for a reason and that is not to be destructive. I believe all of life, whether in the air, in the sea or on the soil has value. We must respond to the needs of Mother Nature. She is counting on all of the humans to work together and help her to survive. Let's Win Together! -
Clare Lazar 7/18/2019 11:22 PMTonight I attended the democratic debate for the next mayoral candidate. They announced at the beginning of the program they would not be offering water in plastic bottles. Much to everyone's delight they told us there was a water fountain in the lobby. AWESOME! -
Clare Lazar 7/16/2019 10:13 PMI had to hold my tongue today when I noticed a customer at Circle K clean out their car of two 'refillable' cups, throw them both in the trash and then proceed to purchase a new drink in a new cup, UGG! I wish there were signs about the Ecochallenge on all convenience store doors. Well, every bit helps, each day. Here's to another opportunity to make a difference tomorrow, CHEERS! -
Clare Lazar 7/05/2019 8:21 PMI want to thank the team organizers and teammates, I'm so inspired by all of you. -
