Well, today is the day...the last day for gathering points for gathering plastic and trash...guess it’s all about doing it for the good of the Earth from here out! Giz thinks that’s a good purpose!! Thanks, Katie, for getting us energized and aware of our neighborhood needs...I believe we are making a difference on our local streets. We are looking forward to our next challenge...you are the keeper of challenges from now on! Love all of you...Ian...today was dedicated to you as you head off to the Far East! Today Giz and I collected about seven pounds of trash and plastic to send to the recycling bin!!! I saw this tree and loved it’s bark...this is what it’s all about!
Humid start today...neighbors are getting better about dropping trash...YEA!!! I think some still think I’m a homeless lady collecting cans! More mushrooms...not a great pic...Giz wouldn’t keep still.
Cool morning...humidity is setting in...glad we got our walk in...God truly provides...Gizzy had to go out quickly this morning so I forgot my garbage bag...I used a poopy bag to pick up small things...THEN...there it was...a Safeway bag so I could pick up more, bigger items! Yea, God!!!! This tree is in the front of my property...it reminds me of a family tree...the tree of life! The caterpillar is the first I’ve seen this summer. He looked very happy and content...as he should be. Love you guys!!!!
Got an early start today...dragged my 83-yo neighbor Lorraine on our 1.3 mile trek through the area. Picked up lots of trash and plastic! We haven’t had a lot of rain, but you wouldn’t know it by these mushrooms! I think the Smurfs live in the mushroom colony. Have an awesome Eco day!!!
Got out early...Giz is feeling better so we took one of our longer walks...picked up a lot of stuff people just toss away...one person actually stood less than FIVE FEET from a bus-stop garbage can and SHREDDED...SHREDDED a McDonald’s cup... and threw all of it on the ground! Let me find that person...plastic (including their straw) everywhere! Found another cool mushroom, a bee buzzing a flower and a circle-of-life dandelion flowers.
Lovely cool day...we enjoyed our walks and picking up...Giz taps his toes when we have to stop to pick up something...as if I don’t pause for everything he has to sniff...he’s a boy! Giz is a fan of Hostas!
