What are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?

Bar soap tends to be more cost efficient that bottled soap and it works just as well. Bar shampoo is usually more expensive than regular shampoo, but a little goes a long way and I've seen an improvement in the appearance of my hair since using bar shampoo. I will definitely be using bar soap from now on, and possibly using bar shampoo long term as well.
