If anyone is looking for a petition to sign here's one. It's requesting NOLA to ban plastic bags, which may be too far for some people, but if you're interested:

Thank you David! I signed the petition.  My son and I love Mardi Gras but lately I feel terrible at the amount of waste that we generate.  My poor kid just stopped wanting to participate in any carnival festivities because two years ago we found a poor bird tangled in plastic beads. We took the birdie to the vet but unfortunately, he had also ingested some of the beads and had to be put down.  We can celebrate without hurting wildlife.

I'm composting by dropping off food scraps at the library. Get info here: https://www.compost-now.org/.

Awesome! Composting captures methane that otherwise would go into the atmosphere. And then your food scraps are turned into beautiful soil amendments for local farms and gardens! Win win!
