Debra's actions
Food
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases, including produce bags.
Family
Provide the Alternatives
I will provide daily plastic free alternatives (straws, water bottles, cuttlery, bar soap, bamboo toothbrushes, etc.) for my family to use.
Food
Skip the Straw
I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable BagsHow difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Debra Kornmuller 7/06/2019 1:53 AMHaving the reusable produce and shopping bags easily accessible has made it much easier. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFamily Provide the AlternativesWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) does your family regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Debra Kornmuller 6/30/2019 1:38 PMWe have the reusable straws we use at home but are not good at carrying them with us.
We will start to carry them with us when we eat out.
