It was so sad to see all of the trash around downtown after last night's festivities. I tried to help by grabbing some litter off of the streets but it was everywhere.

With the 4th of July, the desire to use paper plates and plastic cutlery was hard to overcome. I convinced my family to stay strong and use dishes for our cookout even though it meant a longer clean up.

I can't wait for this year's Plastic Free July!! Last year I learned so much about how I can improve my efforts to reduce my consumption of plastics. We all know about reusable water bottles but this challenge had so many new ways to go further. I'm looking forward to pushing myself again!
