Finding it difficult to avoid purchasing some products that come with plastic or even Styrofoam, I usually justify buying the product by recycling the dreadful containers. I thoroughly wash and dry such things like meat trays or sushi containers and stack them until I accumulate a substantial amount and then donate them to a local organization for second uses.  All types of plastic containers of consistent sizes are appreciated such as prescription bottles, protein shake canisters, or lg hand soap refill jugs. You can check with your local school, community center, church or scouting organization ahead of time to inquire of their needs or wants.

Are you able to buy meat or fish at the butcher/seafood counters in your grocery store? Maybe they'll let you bring your own container!

We went on vacation and each member of our family took one water bottle and one hot drink cup which we were able to refill throughout the entire week instead of disposables. we also carried tupperware products with us to our condo for leftover foods instead of using plastic wraps and baggies for food storage.
