Krystin Kasper 7/27/2019 8:37 AMThe challenge is going great. It was mind blowing to stop and think about my waste and plastic use on a day to day basis. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Naked BinsDoes changing the lining of your waste bin change the kind or amount of trash you produce?
Krystin Kasper 7/27/2019 8:36 AMYes. When changing to not putting in a liner we stopped using the trash bin. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFamily Provide the AlternativesWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) does your family regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Krystin Kasper 7/27/2019 8:35 AMWe used straws, coffee cups, and vegetable bags. We replaced them with medal straws, reusable mugs, and mesh vegetable bags. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPets Homemade Pet Food/TreatsDoes making your own pet food seem like a habit you can keep up in the long term? What else can you do to reduce your use of plastic packaging that can come from taking care of your pet's needs?
Krystin Kasper 7/10/2019 7:20 AMMaking my dog treats is so simple that I can't ever imagine going back to packaged treats filled with sugar. I can also make her shampoo. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Homemade CleanersWhat did you learn by making your own cleaning products? What is the biggest difference in making vs buying?
Krystin Kasper 7/10/2019 7:18 AMI learned how easy it was to make all my own cleaning products. From hand soap, to counter cleaner, glass cleaner, and swiffer solution. The biggest difference is that i can personalize with my owns scents from essential oils while not buying anymore plastic! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Krystin Kasper 7/10/2019 7:16 AMPicking up litter around the community forces you to go out in your community and truly see for your own eyes all trash in just your eyes. It also allows you for other people to see you doing this and causing a ripple affect for them to do the same.
