Rick's actions
Create Your Own Action
Plogging my neighborhood
I will pick up trash and plastic discarded around my neighborhood when I do my daily walk.
Family
Discover Together
I will spend 15 minutes educating my family on the basics of living a reduced/no-plastic lifestyle.
Personal Care
Lather Up
I will replace my soaps, shampoos, and conditions with either a bar or refillable option.
Food
Use Reusable Containers
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Food
Lobby for Reusables
I will lobby my workplace to have reusable dishes and silverware in order to minimize disposables.
Food
Advocate For More Food Packaging Options
I will advocate for alternatives to single use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, or work.
Lifestyle
Travel Smart
If traveling, I will bring my own plastic free items (water bottle, grocery bags, collapsible food containers, utensils, straws, etc.) with me.
Pets
Thrifty Pets
I will purchase my pet's water/food dishes, collars or leashes from the thrift store.
Lifestyle
Complete a Waste Audit
I will conduct a waste audit - including recyclables and compost - to understand how much waste I create and where I can reduce the most.
Community
Volunteer in my Community
I will volunteer 2 hour(s) in my community.
Personal Care
Fresh as a Daisy
I will use deodorant either from a bar or a jar or I will make my own.
Family
Glass Bottle Baby
I will replace 2 plastic bottles with glass or stainless steel alternatives.
Food
Use Reusable Water Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 3 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.
Food
Use Reusables at Work
I will use reusable dishes and silverware when eating at work.
Food
Use Reusable Utensils
I will keep 2 plastic cutlery out of the landfill per day by using my own reusable cutlery.
Food
Skip the Straw
I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

Rick Holzworth 7/04/2019 10:29 AMStrike two, I did not remember my reusable bags again,....but I did not use the plastic bags. I just put everything back in my cart after they rung it in and put the items in the bags in the parking lot. Yes, the security dude stopped me and checked my receipt. -
