Christine Holliday 7/13/2019 2:49 PMToday is the first day I did not pick up 100 pieces of trash. It is mostly because I do not want to go outside when there is a tropical storm around. I might pick up 200 pieces another day to make up for today, but I do not know when this storm will leave. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Join a Cleanup EffortHow does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?
Christine Holliday 7/06/2019 10:00 AMWorking with others to help clean up City Park made me feel confident that we can help save the Earth. I felt good about keeping it clean for others to enjoy. I love spending time at City Park, and cleaning it up today was like paying the park back for all the good memories. -
Christine Holliday 7/03/2019 6:57 PMI was more cautious with single-use plastics at the grocery store than I’d ever been before. It is really frustrating that big chains are not doing anything to reduce single-plastic use.-
Tabitha Dorner 7/04/2019 5:51 AMTrader Joe's is working on it! But we need more to do the same. And we also need to do our part to lower the demand for it. https://www.foodandwine.com/news/trader-joes-plastic-policy

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Minimize PackagingWith the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?
Christine Holliday 7/03/2019 6:54 PMI have noticed that at the grocery store, most of the food items are in single-use plastics. I love pasta, but pasta packs are in single-use plastics, so I did not buy them. There are the box pastas, but they still have a plastic “window.” -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal Care Fresh as a DaisyDo some research on the toxic side affects of aluminum deodorant. After reading the side effects, can you think of instances where you may have experienced the side effects from this form of deodorant?
Christine Holliday 7/03/2019 3:03 PMI never used a aluminum deodarant in my entire life. After reading about the dangers of aluminum deodarant, I am glad I do not use it. Alzheimer's runs in my family and a family member of mine had breast cancer. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Christine Holliday 7/03/2019 2:52 PMPicking up litter around my community makes it cleaner and more people might help me pick up litter bringing our community closer. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Share My ActionsIn what ways is social media an effective tool for sharing your values?
Christine Holliday 7/03/2019 2:49 PMSocial media can show others the steps to being greener. It also shows them that it is not hard to be greener and they too can do greener acts. Social media can also help with inspiring people to be greener. Some people might take one step to being green and stop there from not knowing what to do next. From people sharing on social media, others can get inspired to push out of their confort zone and try a little harder. -
Christine Holliday 7/03/2019 2:41 PMFor the past 3 days, I've picked up 300 pieces of litter outside of/ around my house. -
Christine Holliday 7/01/2019 7:23 AMI was going to get a bag of chips but I decided not to because I don't need it and the bag is made of plastic.
