Personal Care That Was a Close Shave
What have you noticed about the economic and social impact of switching to steel razors? Was there ever really a need for disposable razors, or do you think it was just a way to sell more things?

Is a steel razor better because the metal will break down faster than plastic?

I bought bamboo toothbrushes on line and they are working just fine.  The bristles are still plastic though.  I guess I just congratulate myself that I've significantly reduced the amount of plastic.

The toughest part has been telling the waiter that I don't want a straw before they are put on the table, because then it's too late and I bet they go right into the trash.

I set a location reminder on my cellphone so that every time I pull into the grocery store my phone sends me a reminder to take my own bags into the store.  Of course it goes off every time that I drive by the store parking lot which makes me laugh.

I was so proud of myself.  Skipped the plastic straw in my frappe this afternoon and used one of my brand new, silicone straws.  Then I realized my drink was in a plastic cup with a lid.  Sigh.  This is so hard.
