    Reached out to Kroger brands as I often shop at both QFC and Fred Meyer.  I sent a short note to them advocating to replace plastic bags in their produce section with compostable ones, encouraging larger companies like themselves to step up and make a statement that it is important.  Much to my surprise I got a lovely response back from a real person (or so I think).  They thanked me for my note, mentioned that my concern will be shared with with the appropriate department leads, and that they hope to continue to improve. All with an option to respond to a real person. I was impressed, assuming I would have gotten a stock reply with no option to further my contact. One small step....
