Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Make Your Own
How do you feel about being more involved in the food preparation process? Joyful, overwhelmed, engaged, empowered? What are the benefits of choosing to process or produce your own food instead of buying it pre-processed?

I love the idea of encouraging people to cook and create. I would suggest joining a CSA in your area. Fresh produce is a catalyst to being creative.

I appreciate the way this challenge opens up my eyes to what I use/throw away.
I actually made newspaper trash can liners for the small cans in the house.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Use Reusables at Work
It is often true that we only have control over our own actions and not the collective community. How can you lead by example when it comes to switching disposables for reusable dishes in your community?

This is becoming so much easier. But I can do better each week. My goal is to NOT be using any non-reusable plastic for my lunch each day by the end of July!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Use Reusable Containers
How can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?

I bought etee wraps and that has really changed how I focus on how I get food from home to work each day. It is no big deal to fill a reusable container and water bottle now!

It seems like an emergency to change our impact on the environment. I want to be an example to those around me too.
