Currently most of the packaging for toothpaste is plastic. How can you advocate for more alternatives through your purchasing power and influence in community?

Purchase power is pretty simple... stop buying it and they'll stop selling it. Companies choose what is profitable. Switch to something more sustainable, try it out and tell your friends what it's like. A review from someone they trust could be the difference in them deciding to make the switch.

Wow! Last day already. Think of the impact we will make if everyone sticks with their new habits

Can't believe a whole month has gone by. I've made a handful of little changes abs I've hardly noticed an impact on my day to day life. I think it's safe to say that we don't need Plastics as much as we've been made to think we do to make life convenient.

Has anyone else seen the video of thousands upon thousands of unused, full water bottles FEMA supposedly left in a field in Puerto Rico? 😱😡

To the guy at the Publix deli counter that insisted plastic should go between every slice of cheese before begrudgingly agreeing not to use it.... my cheese peeled apart just fine, thank you very much!

I ordered cheese at the Publix deli and asked for please no plastic sheets between slices. He looked at me like I had two heads and tried to convince me I wanted the plastic otherwise the slices would be hard to peel apart. Took a bit to convince him the plastic waste wasn't worth the tiny bit of convenience. 🤷‍♀️

I'm not sure how legitimate 4Oceans is, but I do like their beach cleanup bag. I'm adding a bag like this one to our beach tote. This way, each time we go, we can spend at least 15 minutes cleaning up the shoreline.

Still struggling a bit to find ways to cut back on plastic when food shopping without completely breaking the bank. And I've yet to find a deli counter that will allow containers from home to be used.

Why does ordering something "on the side" have to mean "in a little plastic cup"? Literally just put it on the side of the plate. :/

Most of my anti-plastic habits are officially routine. And while we already used reusable bags, this has helped me get better about that again. I went to the store and brought in reusable bags, but didn't have enough. Instead of using plastic bags, i just put everything back in my cart and put them in my car without a bag.
