Estimate Your Plastic Consumption and Go #PlasticNeutral
I will visit rePurpose website, complete the 3-minute plastic consumption calculator, and explore how I can reBalance my annual plastic footprint.
Personal Care
That Was a Close Shave
I will replace my disposable razors with steel razors. Why not try using hair conditioner instead of shaving foam for that baby smooth feel?
Food
Use Reusable Containers
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Food
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases, including produce bags.
Personal Care
Lather Up
I will replace my soaps, shampoos, and conditions with either a bar or refillable option.
Food
Use Reusable Utensils
I will keep 4 plastic cutlery out of the landfill per day by using my own reusable cutlery.

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat did you find out about your plastic consumption by using the calculator? What did or didn't surprise you?
Victoria Flores 7/25/2019 3:48 PMFocusing on plastic consumption made me realize how many food items are stored in plastic and how much plastic I am bringing home when I go grocery shopping. That is what surprised me. -
Victoria Flores 7/15/2019 10:38 AMWOW!!! I went to the grocery store yesterday. The amount of items that I fit in my two t-shirt bags would have filled about eight plastic bags. And, I did not have to worry about my t-shirt bags breaking. The bags were definitely worth making. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Victoria Flores 7/01/2019 9:56 AMOver the weekend, I re-purposed 10 old t-shirts to make re-usable bags to take with me shopping. No sewing involved. Hope I can upload an image later.
