Can't believe its almost been a whole month already!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Pets Pet Waste
By composting your pet waste, you are turning waste into nutrients to feed the soil. In what other ways can you turn waste into a resource in your life?

Based on what I read, composting my pet's waste might not be feasible in my current situation, but I will definitely be more aware now. I feel like I can better use food waste with composting, since dog waste composting cannot be used with soil that will effect plants that people eat.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Buy Unpackaged Produce
Why do you think these produce products started amassing so much plastic packaging? Who is the plastic packaging really serving -- the consumer, the producer, or someone else?

After making a couple grocery store trips where I made sure to buy my produce without packaging or produce bags, it has made me realize how unnecessary they are in most cases. Especially for larger produce items, like apples, where it is just as easy to buy them un-bagged!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Use Reusable Bags
How difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?

I always hope that when I say no thank you to plastic bags that it will inspire the customers behind me in line to do the same thing (or at least make them think about it more)

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Pets Homemade Pet Food/Treats
Does making your own pet food seem like a habit you can keep up in the long term? What else can you do to reduce your use of plastic packaging that can come from taking care of your pet's needs?

Made my dog some pumpkin treats--saved plastic and money (and she liked them more than her treats from the store)! Will definitely try to keep this up!
