Create Your Own Action
Shopping Sustainably
I will use my own reusable bags whenever shopping, or I will carry anything I buy without a bag. The overuse of plastic bags, especially when they are totally unnecessary for most purchases, is a big problem. We need to deter this cultural habit and hopefully ban plastic bags in the future.
Pets
Rubber Glove Pet Hair Removal
I will use a rubber glove to remove pet hair from clothes, carpets and furniture.
Pets
Pet Waste
I will spend 20 minutes learning how to compost pet waste at home or research pet waste composting services available in my area.
Lifestyle
Watch a Documentary
I will watch a documentary film about waste with family and friends and talk about what we learned.
Personal Care
Fresh as a Daisy
I will use deodorant either from a bar or a jar or I will make my own.
Food
Skip the Straw
I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Food
Takeout Pro
I will use my own containers when ordering takeout.
Food
Use Reusable Utensils
I will keep 1 plastic cutlery out of the landfill per day by using my own reusable cutlery.
Personal Care
Brusha Brusha Brusha
I will replace my plastic toothbrush with a bamboo toothbrush.

REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal Care Brusha Brusha BrushaWhat are the benefits of switching to bamboo toothbrushes? How would you implore others in your community to make this switch as well?
Claire Evans 7/24/2019 10:20 AMI actually think that we need to make the bamboo brushes designed differently. On the first use I already had a chip of bamboo in my mouth, and I couldn't get the bristles to reach my back molars which was a little frustrating. In order for this to be a more viable option, the designing process needs to be better. Also, there was plastic packaging for the bamboo brush which completely goes against the point of the brush—some more thought from these companies would be appreciated.
