Hello earth loving citizens, my name Melanie. Since I was a child I've throughly enjoyed nature. I grew up in an area of N.J where there were many awesome places to explore. I picked wild blueberries, hung tire swings and built forts in the woods near my home. There was a water treatment plant at one end of town that had two lakes, one small, one large. We swam in the small at summer and ice skated on the large one in winter. I am a water sign and the bay was one of my favorite places for gathering shells, making sand castles and playing with the giant horse shoe crabs. I could go on and on about my home town, it certainly was a childs paradise. Eventually I moved to Pennsylvania and raised my three children there, so naturally I introduced them to all the splenders of the area. Back then I never thought twice about all the trash and plastics we were throwing away. It wasn't until about ten years ago that I came to realize our magnificent planet is being mistreated in many many ways and that I needed to reduce my foot prints and spread awareness. It didn't happen over night but as the years went by I began to recycle, reuse, change my diet, and shop more consciously. My opinion today is we don't have that leisurely time to act and make changes. The planet and her inhabitants are in deep despair and they need our immediate remedy. So please, may this challenge not be over at the end of July, but an ongoing endever that we keep in the fore front our hearts and minds. I thank you for the opportunity of this challenge, as it has deepened my commitments to the planet and to share with you a wonderful part of my life. 🌍✌❤
