I went grocery shopping at Publix after class. Behold I forgot my reusable bags today. The cashier asked my if plastic was okay. I responded with a no thank you. So the bagged put my groceries in paper bags, they ran out of room for 3 items-again the cashier asked if he could put those in plastic. I said no thank you and “I’ll just carry them”. Two challenges in less than 24 hours.

Woo hoo! I find that by doing that you inspire others too! Next time maybe the person behind you will also say no to plastic!

It is often true that we only have control over our own actions and not the collective community. How can you lead by example when it comes to switching disposables for reusable dishes in your community?

I’ve been wanting to make straws illegal for so long. But then I was part of the problem. So I went to Dunkin Donuts yesterday morning as I always do for my coffee. I purchased my coffee, handed them my card, and said “No straw please.” So proud of myself.
