  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Cook a Zero-Plastic Waste Meal
Do an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some resuable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable?

I can resuse the plastic water bottles I already have and add a powdered version of my drink instead of purchasing another plastic bottle. I could easily go through 3 to 4 plastic water bottels a day and by using just one and refilling I am not going through so much plastic.

I have definately noticed a shift in my community regarding the use of straws. The local coffee shop I go to encourages patrons to bring in their reusable cups :).

    Pets Homemade Pet Food/Treats
Does making your own pet food seem like a habit you can keep up in the long term? What else can you do to reduce your use of plastic packaging that can come from taking care of your pet's needs?

I can definately keep on on making my own pet treats long term.  I have also begun to use biodegradable plastic poop bags and, on occasion paper bags. My next step is to read the dog food bags I buy and see how I can recycle these. I do have a friend who makes reusable bags out of pet food bags which is something I may copy.
